Slotted Nut

A slotted nut is a nut with slots cut into one end.
It is similar to a castle nut but without the round turret.
The bolt or shaft which the nut tightens on is drilled at the required location.
The nut is then secured with a split pin or R clip
Castle nuts are used in low-torque applications, such as holding a wheel bearing in place.
Available in steel and stainless steel.
